The CMA works under the supervision of a Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse and performs various duties as a universal employee. The Universal Employee will perform personal care services, housekeeping duties, and any assigned tasks to meet the resident's needs. The CMA will perform duties in a manner which promotes quality, continuity and safety of the residents.
Applicant must have an active CMA certification and clear a background check.
Typical Hours: 6 a.m. - 6 p.m. OR 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. and every other weekend
Responsibilities:
Dispense and administer medications according to each resident's chart
Reorder any medications that are needed
Receive medication deliveries and accurately put medications in the cart
Provide or assist with personal care to residents
Planning and preparing meals; assisting with serving meals
Keeping resident rooms and facility clean and orderly
Assisting in ambulation and exercise according to the plan of care
Observing residents and reporting unusual findings to the Director of Nursing or Supervisor
Charting all required information on forms and signing entries
Answering call lights, running errands directed by a supervisor and participating in general house duties
